In light of the recent attention to the Log4j vulnerability (CVE-2021-44228 ), also known as Log4Shell, we would like to reassure our partners and customers that as of December 2021, Ganz products, specifically Ganz CORTROL VMS is not affected by it.
According to Cybercrime Magazine, “Cybersecurity Ventures expects global cybercrime costs to grow by 15 percent per year over the next five years, reaching USD 10.5 trillion annually by 2025, up from USD 3 trillion in 2015” (Morgan 2020). Thus, cybersecurity has become even more critical in recent years following the digital migration during the pandemic.
The zero-day vulnerability in question is related to Apache Log4j Java logging library. CORTROL security experts reviewed the product projects and third-party tools involved in the development process and confirmed that the above products do not use Log4j. Thus they are not in any way affected by this security issue. In addition, company internal infrastructure is also safe.
