Also known as a video management system, VMS is a software system that manages and maintains an organization's multiple surveillance and security components:

1. Accumulates video from cameras and data from various IoT devices and integrates with access control
2. Records and stores that video to local storage, and or cloud storage
3. Offers an interface to view live video, access recorded video, access IoT data, and manage access control
